Reedsport Winchester Bay a outdoor lover's dream. In the Reedsport-Winchester Bay area there are three beautiful and scenic bodies of water, the Smith River, Scholfield Creek and the Umpqua River. There are over 17 fresh water lakes within a 20-mile radius. The ocean and rivers offer a variety of seafood, such as Chinook and Coho salmon, bottom fish, striped and small mouth bass, steelhead. Sturgeon, shad, pink fin perch, Dungeness crab, clams and oysters.
The highest sand dunes in the United States are located in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, which stretches forty miles from Florence to North Bend, with Reedsport- Winchester Bay located right in the middle. Dean Creek Elk Viewing Area: Located three miles east of Reedsport on Highway 38, this 1,000-acre preserve provides an opportunity to view 100's of Roosevelt Elk in their natural habitat.
Located one mile south of Winchester Bay is the Umpqua River Lighthouse. It is one of the few working lighthouses on the Oregon Coast and the only one featuring a red lens. Tours inside the lighthouse are available during the summer months. Across from the lighthouse is an observation deck for whale watching with interpretive panels and spotting scopes.
The Lower Umpqua Area is a bird watcher's paradise. In the forests and marshes watch for the bald eagle, osprey, snowy plover, great blue heron, and great egret. Along the beach you will find plovers, sanderlings. terns, gulls, killdeer and sandpipers.

Bandon is located in Coos County. Oregon. Bandon was named by early resident George Bennett because it reminded him of his home in Bandon, Cork County, Ireland.
Attractions: The local city park is center of many events. The exciting Old Town shopping area contains shops, galleries and restaurants. Crabbing and fishing are on the Port's High Dock. Bandon has beautiful stretches of easily accessed State Park beaches including Face Rock, Coquille Point, Devil's Kitchen and Bandon Wayside. Whale watching and beachcombing are favorite activities, but be warned of dangerous "sneaker waves." The Coquille River Lighthouse stands on the North Jetty at Bullard's Beach State Park, a favorite picnic and camping destination. Views of cranberry bogs can be had both north and south of town. Home to three of the world’s premier golf courses Bandon Dunes, Bandon Trails and Pacific Dunes, for all that Bandon has to offer, it remains charmingly undiscovered and unspoiled.

Port Orford is the oldest town-site on the Oregon Coast. Founded in 1851 by Captain William Tichenor, the city remains at nearly the same population.
The Visitor's Center is at Battle Rock Park, on the south end of town on Highway 101. At the Visitor's Center you will find information about the city, Chamber of Commerce information and of course the famous Battle Rock and beautiful Battle Rock beach. Battle Rock Park is within walking distance of restaurants, gift shops, motels, antique stores, a bank and most of the area's real estate agencies.
Elk and Sixes Rivers: Both rivers are pristine and the Elk boasts the some of the best salmon fishing in the contiguous U.S. When the rains start (October or November), Fall Chinook Salmon and later Winter Steelhead bring fisherman for hundreds of miles.

Gold Beach is synonymous with jet boats and is the gateway to the Wild & Scenic portion of the Rogue River. Departing from Gold Beach is the only way to get jet boat access to this pristine "Wild Section." The trips are considered a must-do during any Gold Beach visit at least in the months between May and October. Two outfits run the boats up the Wild and Scenic Rogue River on trips of 64, 80 and 104 round-trip miles, the longer, the wilder in terms of whitewater and scenery. Excursions include lunch or dinner stopovers at upriver lodges. The Rogue River and Gold Beach is home to the largest King / Chinook Salmon and Steelhead runs in the Lower 48 states. With a World record King / Chinook taken Fly Fishing in 2002! 71.5 pounds! The off shore fishing for bottom fish is some of the best on the Oregon Coast. River Guide and Ocean Charter Services are available year around.
